About This Special Issue
Sustainability or sustainable development is understood as actions carried out in the present in order to guarantee natural resources for future generations, in addition, for this to be achieved, activities involving social, economic and environmental indicators in different areas or sectors of nutrition such as clinical and social nutrition, collective health and collective nutrition. Likewise, sustainability has become a necessity in all human actions, including food, a sector that demands a lot of natural resources such as water, energy, food, among others, as well as being responsible for mitigating natural resources through pollution, emission of greenhouse gases, excessive production of solid waste, among others, requiring research in the area in order to help nutritionists, dietitians, entrepreneurs and consumers to make their actions greener, thinking about the environment, the community and the Marketplace. As well as encouraging governments or authorities to create standards and legislation that should be adopted by society so that everyone becomes an agent of sustainability.
